About Us

Medical Joy began with my own journey. At 15, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes an unexpected and life‑altering revelation. Overnight, my world changed. I felt sick, confused, and overwhelmed. Suddenly, I had to learn how to live with something I didn’t fully understand.
When I first started wearing a sensor, I remember the stares. People noticed it on my arm, and I felt embarrassed, exposed, and different. Every beep seemed louder in public, every glance a reminder that I wasn’t “normal.” I wanted to hide it, but I couldn’t it was part of me. Those moments were heavy, and they made me realize how much children, teens and even adults struggle not just with the medical side of diabetes, but with the emotional weight of being seen.
I know what it feels like to wish you could blend in, to feel like your body has betrayed you, and to wonder if life will ever feel joyful again. But I also know what it feels like to discover strength you didn’t know you had.
That strength came to me in the form of Delilah, a golden retriever who became more than just a service dog. She was my companion, my comfort, and my spark of joy. With her by my side, I began to see that illness didn’t have to mean sadness. It could be met with courage, creativity, and love.
Launching Medical Joy with Delilah has been the realization of a dream. Our mission is to infuse joy and positivity into the lives of those with illnesses. We believe that medical devices should never feel like something to hide they can be symbols of bravery, pride, and even playfulness.
Medical Joy is about more than products. It’s about connection. It’s about telling children, parents, and families: we see you, we understand you, and you are not alone.
Despite life’s unexpected turns, resilience and determination can shape our future. As someone once wisely said, “Life doesn’t always work out the way you want it to, but you often end up where you need to be.” Without my diagnosis, I might never have met Delilah and now, together, we inspire hope in others walking similar paths.
At Medical Joy, our mission is to embrace each moment, transform struggles into strengths. And help families and children find joy in the journey, even when the path feels uncertain.
